Parts company Randstad digs deep to make valuable donation to Newcastle-based animal charity
Kind-hearted staff at parts and consumables company Randstad are helping the Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter this winter after donating 500 tins of pet food to the charity.
Staff in the sales department at the Cramlington-based company decided to put their latest sales bonus towards buying food for the local animal charity that cares for unwanted animals.
The generous Randstad team (some of whom are pictured right), which made a similar donation to the NSPCC recently, was made up of Michelle Patterson, Claire Walker, Claire Bartie, Paul Hielman, Kelly Richardson, Jade Durrant, Sophie Haddock, Nicola Armstrong and Georgina
Coulson.
"We've had a very busy Christmas period at the shelter with an exceptionally high intake - 70 dogs and 23 cats - in only a few days," said Leyla Rutter, chief executive of the Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter.
"We rely heavily on donations from companies like Randstad and its generous contribution to the food stocks really does take some of the pressure off us.
“It means we can spend our money on other important things. I'd like to thank everyone at Randstad for making this possible."
Randstad managing director Martin Dowd, said: “This is another illustration of our team's generosity and I'm really proud of the fact that they think of others before themselves."
