Two months to go until search for the UK’s Top Technician 2011 begins

THE COUNTDOWN has begun to Top Technician 2011, the annual competition which recognises and rewards the best fault finders across the UK. The competition’s technical partner Automotive Technician Accreditation (or ATA to its friends), is now finalising the first stage theory test, which will be available to take online from September 27th.

The highest scoring 24 will then be invited to a half-day practical assessment at Delphi’s training facility early next February. The best six techs will go on to the finals in early March at the Honda Institute in Slough. This year, after a tough (but rewarding!) day, techs will enjoy a night out at the organiser’s expense (they’ll even pay for your hotel room too). The winner will be announced at Workshop 2011 on April 13th and will be rewarded with £2,500 in cash and thousands of pounds worth of prizes. All technicians who reach the practical stages of the competition will gain invaluable publicity for themselves and their business.

So what are you waiting for? Competent fault-finders, who have at least three years experience, should pre-enter now at www.toptechnician.co.uk. As project manager Nicola St Clair says in this short interview, it’s a “No-brainer!”

All entrants will receive the correct answers to the online test after closing on January 7th 2011. Every six weeks from October, entrants will receive a Top Tech Club email, this will include technical articles, offers and training discounts from this year’s proud sponsors: Autologic, Blue Print, Comma Oil & Chemicals, Delphi, Euro Car Parts and Lemforder.

Call Nicola on 01634 261 262 if you would like to find out more or email Nicola@toptechnician.co.uk.
