Motor Codes' Golden Garages competition highlights UK's 50 most popular workshops
MOTOR Codes has revealed the 50 garages that have won through to the regional rounds of its national Golden Garages competition.
The top 5 garages from 10 regions around the UK have been identified as part of the hunt to find the country’s most popular service and repair centre.
The results were collated from more than 4,000 motorists who voted for their favourite garage on the website www.goldengarages.co.uk.
The contest, which was launched in February, is designed to raise awareness of Motor Codes and its Code of Practice for Service and Repair while highlighting the work and skills of high-quality workshops to drivers.
The contest has already been featured in national newspapers and radio stations and is being promoted by TV presenter Vicki Butler-Henderson (pictured).
Daily Telegraph Motoring correspondent Honest John and Aftermarket editor Tom Mallens are also on the judging panel to help select the eventual winner.
They will be joined by Motor Codes director Chris Mason, Professional Motor Mechanic editor Richard Bowler and Which? magazine motoring editor Richard Headland.
Chris said the aim of the contest was to highlight the great service well-run garages could offer motorists.
“We had over 4,000 votes from motorists across the country,” said Chris. “And they were all keen to shout about great service at their local garage.
“At this stage, we’ve identified the most popular garages that received consistently good customer feedback to create list of top garages per region. Motor Codes is determined to promote the best the service and repair sector has to offer so that every motorist can benefit from fair, honest, quality service,” added Chris.
What happens next?
Now that the regional shortlist of garages has been drawn up, drivers will be asked to vote again for one of the contestants in their region.
Ten final garages will then be selected and the Golden Garages team of judges will choose the winner.
Each of the 10 regional winner will pick up prizes including £300 of Unipart and Snap-on vouchers.
The eventual Golden Garages winner will take home a Snap-on Ethos diagnostic tool, a Lotus driving day, £2,250 of Unipart vouchers and Snap-on vouchers to the tune of £1,750.
