IMI to help you get your hands on government cash with funding advice service

EMPLOYERS could get easier access to government funding thanks to a new service launched by the IMI.

The organisation has begun a funding advice service to help employers and training providers get information on funding in Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland.

A spokesman for the IMI said government funding for businesses could vary depending on a company’s location in the UK.

Information on how to access funding will be available via the IMI website with the chance to telephone the organisation for in-depth advice.

The IMI released a statement saying: “If you’re an employer or training provider and have a specific query that you would like assistance with, or if you would like to request telephone contact to discuss funding possibilities, please email funding@motor.org.uk with your name and contact details, where you are in the UK and what funding you are interested in. You should receive a response to your email within two working days.”

Linda Stansfield, chief operating officer at the IMI, said: “We’re aware the whole area of available government funding for training can seem confusing to many in the sector.

“The aim of our new service will be to help guide employers and training providers through the process and enable them to obtain the right funding to assist with training or the delivery of training where it is most needed in their business.”

The IMI will trial the service for 6 months. If successful, it hopes to offer it as a permanent facility.
