Parker's puts labour rates online
Car review web site Parker’s has introduced a service booking system where drivers can book their vehicle in for a service, MOT or repair and compare prices from a network of 10,000 service centres, both independent and franchised. Parker’s is promoting the service as a way for motorists to avoid paying “over the odds” for routine servicing. Parker's ‘Service Direct’ allows them to search and compare hourly labour rates and save money on parts, thanks to pre-negotiated discounts of up to 10% on parts from selected dealers. The ten most local garages are displayed by labour rate, with the cheapest listed first. The service can be booked online and the car can be collected and delivered from home or a workplace, free of charge. There is no deposit or pre-payment required.
