All about skills
Employers are to gain greater influence over skills development following proposals made by a report into UK skills. The report, published by HM Treasury, is the final report in a series called the Leitch Review of Skills. It examines the long term skills needs of the UK and signals the need for major changes in the education and skills system. The report recommends a move towards the skills and education system becoming more responsive to the requirements of employers. This is seen as particularly key by sector skills council ‘Automotive Skills’ when developing a higher skilled workforce for the automotive service and repair sector’s future. Automotive Skills has welcomed the report in advance of its presence at the Skills Zone, held from 24-26 April 2007 at the Birmingham NEC, amidst the combined CV and AT Shows. www.skillszone.netEmail this article to a Friend
