Campaign body
Tyresafe is a new, proactive organisation that has grown out of the Tyre Industry Council (TIC). It aims to promote tyre safety awareness through improving the knowledge of the importance of looking after tyres. TyreSafe will address the challenges facing the tyre industry and in particular, the issues of corporate responsibility and duty of care legislation as they relate to tyres and their use. TyreSafe will be proactive and campaign to all users of tyres - cars, vans, trucks, buses and coaches, motorcycles, industrial and off road - with a simple yet effective message "look after your tyres and your tyres will look after you". The new organisation will continue the work pioneered by TIC over the past 18 years but will become more campaign focused. It will cease to be funded by industry trade associations and become more closely allied to the companies and organisations working in the industry who will in future fund and direct the TyreSafe agenda. TyreSafe has already received support and top level funding from major companies within the tyre industry including ATS Euromaster, Bridgestone, Continental Tyres, Cooper Tyres, GoodyearDunlop, Hankook, Hi-Q, Just Tyres, Kumho Tyres, Michelin, National Tyres and Autocare, Pirelli, Stapletons and Viking International. It is anticipated that many more tyre manufactuers, retailers and wholesalers will become TyreSafe supporters over the coming months. During the early part of the New Year TyreSafe will be announcing a number of initiatives including the launch of a new website and plans for a national Tyre Awareness Week.Email this article to a Friend
