IMI plans more ways to help boost skills
A MAJOR initiative to raise the prestige and appreciation of skills within the motor industry is to be launched by the Institute of the Motor Industry.
Aftermarket understands the scheme will see companies and organisations publicly recognised if and when they make contributions – financial or otherwise – to the development of skills in the motor industry. It will also serve to "measure and recognise" contributions, according to the IMI.
The move is part of the IMI’s plans to drive the motor industry forward with improved recognition of the value of skills and easier access to training for garages and other motor industry businesses.
The programme is due to be launched in February next year. Stay tuned to Aftermarket Network in 2008 to find out details and information about how you could benefit.
