Top technicians set to benfit in skills comp
THE DEADLINE to enter Top Technician and stand a chance of winning the prestigious title is looming.
Hundreds of experienced fault finders with a passion for diagnostics have already nominated themselves in the annual search for the UK’s best mechanic.
By registering before the January 18 2008 deadline, technicians can gain free Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) at diagnostic level (worth around £250) and stand the chance to become Top Technician 2008.
The winner will walk away with £2,500 tax-free, plus tickets to the GEA Aftermarket Technical Workshop, sponsor prizes and free publicity for their place of business.
Those who achieve ATA will take a second written test. The 12 highest-scoring technicians will then be invited to battle it out at the live finals.
The live finals will be held on the Top Technician stand at Workshop 2008, 15 to 17 April at the NEC, Birmingham.
Visitors to the stand will benefit from free training presentations on the latest vehicle technology held each morning of the Show.
It is not too late to nominate yourself or a colleague, simply register on www.toptechnician.co.uk.

Top Technician 2008 is sponsored by Bosch, Comma Oil & Chemicals, Euro Car Parts, NGK and Snap-on Tools. The competition’s technical partner is ATA.
